Who Is a Candidate for Implant-Supported Dentures?
In this video, Dr. Robert Harvey explains the criteria for determining whether a patient is a good candidate for implant-supported dentures.
Determining whether you are a candidate for implant-supported dentures largely depends on the condition and quantity of your jawbone. To be considered a suitable candidate, you need to have an adequate amount of bone, and the bone quality must be sufficiently robust to support the implants.
At our clinic, we utilize 3D X-ray imaging to thoroughly evaluate the thickness, width, and height of your jawbone. This detailed assessment helps us understand if your bone structure can effectively support the implants necessary for securing dentures.
Interestingly, you might find that you are a better candidate for mini dental implants rather than traditional, conventional style implants. Mini implants require less bone for placement, which makes them a viable option for patients who may not have enough bone mass for larger implants. This technology allows us to provide stable, durable teeth replacements even in cases where bone availability is limited.
