What Is an Implant Denture?
In this video, Dr. Robert Harvey explains how implant dentures, supported by mini dental implants, provide a stable and comfortable fit.
An implant denture is a type of denture supported by dental implants, specifically mini dental implants in this case. The mini dental implants are strategically placed, and the denture is designed with internal housings. These housings contain black rubber o-rings that securely lock the denture into place, ensuring a stable fit.
This approach is applied similarly to lower dentures. Just like the upper, the lower denture features mini dental implants and housings with little black o-rings. This design securely locks the denture, stabilizing it effectively. One of the most common complaints about lower dentures is their instability and lack of suction, which can cause them to move around uncomfortably. The implant-supported design eliminates this issue, allowing the denture to remain stable. As a result, it restores the ability to eat comfortably, much like one would with natural teeth.
