What Is a Root Canal?
In this video, Dr. Rameek McNair explains the root canal procedure, detailing how it preserves teeth by removing infection and sealing the tooth.
A root canal treatment involves thoroughly cleaning the inside of a tooth’s canal and then filling it with a thermoplastic material. This procedure is necessary when the nerve inside a tooth has died, typically due to infection caused by a cavity that has progressed too deeply. By removing the infected tissue and sealing the canal, we can preserve the tooth and prevent the need for extraction. This allows patients to keep their natural tooth for the long term, maintaining their dental health and function.
