Treating TMJ Syndrome
Many times, jaw pain associated with TMJ syndrome will diminish on its own or with simple remedies like anti-inflammatory medication and warm compresses. If your jaw pain does not go away on its own, then Drs. Harvey and McNair can diagnose and treat your pain with a number of solutions. Jaw pain caused by teeth grinding or “bruxism” occurs due to the unnatural force that is exerted upon your jaw muscles. An occlusal adjustment or a splint with anterior deprogrammer can take the pressure off of your joint and provide relief from the pain and fatigue you have been experiencing. We also do laser treatments for pain relief for TMJ patients.
