It is recommended that you visit the dentist at least every six months, and sometimes more frequently depending on your oral condition. There are two reasons for this. First, proper brushing and flossing cannot remove the tartar that accumulates over time. A cleaning with a hygienist accomplishes this. Second, just because everything seems normal does not mean your mouth is healthy. Many oral health issues can be detected by a dentist before the patient is aware that something is wrong, and it is best to treat such issues early.
